Name:-
Thomas Temperal
Alias:- Tommy Otter
Gender:- Male
Town:- Lincoln
Bio:- Otherwise know
as Thomas Temporal or Thomas Temple undertook a "shotgun
marriage" to Mary Kirkham in 1805.
In those days couples could undergo a forced marriage if the woman
was expecting a child by an identifiable father.
The reasoning was that a child with a legal father would not become
the responsibility of the parish in which it had been born.
It turned out that Otter already had a wife and child living in
Southwell. Tommy Otter confessed his guilt during a trail and
was hung at Lincoln on March 14 1806. But what happenned to his
body was even more gruesome!
